Britney Jean Spears

(McComb, 2 dicembre 1981) è una cantante, attrice e ballerina statunitense.

Ha venduto 83 milioni di dischi nel mondo, di cui 31 milioni nei soli Stati Uniti in appena 10 anni di carriera dal 1998 a oggi, piazzandosi così all'ottavo posto fra le donne che hanno venduto di più in tutta la storia del mercato musicale pop statunitense.

Ha inoltre vinto un Grammy Awards vantando inoltre tre premi e cinque performance agli MTV Video Music Awards.

E' riuscita a far debuttare ben cinque dei suoi album alla posizione #1 della Billboard 100 americana, cosa riuscita solo ad artisti del calibro di Barbra Streisand e Mariah Carey.

Amata e contestata, con i suoi comportamenti bizzarri e i suoi video, è riuscita a fare da apripista ad un genere, il Teen pop, che si sarebbe evoluto sempre di più negli anni, dalla fine degli anni '90 fino a giorni d'oggi.

Negli anni la stampa internazionale cominciò a indicare Britney Spears come "Reginetta del Pop".

MTV Europe Music Awards
Gli MTV Europe Music Awards, in sigla EMAs o EMA, sono una manifestazione organizzata dall'emittente televisiva MTV Networks Europe, dove vengono premiati i cantanti e le canzoni più popolari del Vecchio Continente.

La prima edizione degli MTV Europe Music Awards si è tenuta nel 1994. In origine questo premio era stato pensato in alternativa agli americani MTV Video Music Awards. Oggi la trasmissione è diventata molto popolare in tutto il mondo.

Gli MTV Europe Music Awards sono ospitati ogni anno da una diversa città europea (l'Italia li ha ospitati nel 1998 a Milano e nel 2004 a Roma). La premiazione viene trasmessa ogni anno dal vivo da MTV, e tra i premi assegnati vi è anche un premio per il miglior artista di ogni paese europeo in cui è trasmesso MTV.

Generalmente i premi sono assegnati tramite votazioni sul sito ufficiale, in cui gli utenti possono votare i loro artisti preferiti per la candidatura e successivamente decretare il vincitore di ogni categoria.

I prossimi MTV EMA si terranno per la quarta volta in Germania il 5 novembre 2009 a Berlino, in coincidenza con il ventesimo anniversario della caduta del muro. Lo spettacolo si svolgerà nell'O2 World e di fronte la Porta di Brandeburgo[
